Our Mission
Our mission is to empower people who are living with a disability, a chronic illness, or have been in an abusive relationship to live happier and more independent lives through service and assistance animals.

How We Came to Be

From the ashes of the World Trade Center, The Tower of Hope rose. The Tower of Hope (TTOH) was founded in memory and in honor of my husband, Tom Sinton, who lost his life on September 11, 2001, a day we experienced unimaginable cruelty.

I did not want Tom's legacy to be about the horrible way in which he died but rather how he lived. Tom was one of the good guys, a caring and fun loving person who was always willing to lend a hand. He cared for and wanted comfort for all living things. In that vein I hope that the work we do at The Tower of Hope will lessen the burden for those who can benefit from assistance animals. This will keep the memory of Tom alive by confronting hopelessness with optimism, making a difference one person at a time.

How We Can Make a Difference with Your Support

We raise funds for the training of service and assistance animals in an effort to lessen the waiting time for those in need. Today, those who can benefit from an assistance animal have over a two year wait until they can actually receive an animal.

The training of a service animal is highly specialized and quite expensive. Basic training can cost up to $25,000 per dog. Unfortunately, this does not include animal care during the training period or thereafter. We will assist in providing for the well being of these hard-working animals.

Through these efforts we also hope to educate, advocate and promote the benefits of assistance animals to humanity.

Our Future

Funding for additional training facilities will ensure that there are more service and assistance animals getting to more people. Therefore, in the long run, we hope to be able to provide funding for additional training facilities. We also want to be certain that once these hard working animals have cared and provided for humanity that they too have proper care.

Please meet Tom Sinton. We hope he will live on through The Tower of Hope.
